Fast, aggressive, lightly geared skirmish play on an inflatable-bunker field. Here is what speedsoft and SpeedQB actually are, how they differ from milsim, and who runs it in Queensland with gel blasters. Every fact below carries its source and the date it was checked.

Speedsoft is the broad playstyle: speed, mobility, aggressive angles, and fast follow-up shots on an inflatable-bunker field similar to speedball paintball. Rounds are very short, about five minutes or less.
SpeedQB is the specific competitive league and ruleset that sits on top of that playstyle: codified rules, sanctioned tournaments, official field dimensions, and division classifications. In its stock format two teams of five (5v5) compete for points by eliminating opponents and capturing or hanging a flag on the opponent wall, usually semi-auto only, in short rounds within a bracket.
SpeedGel is the gel-blaster expression of this. Because airsoft equipment is banned or hard to obtain in Australia (see our Airsoft in Australia article), Australian players run the SpeedQB style with gel blasters instead of airsoft markers.

Stock SpeedQB is a 5v5 airsoft ruleset. Australian gel-ball speedsoft borrows the SpeedQB name and style, but each league and venue runs its own rules (team size, scoring, chrono limits). Always check the specific event ruleset.
Speedsoft Australia is reported to be the host and licence holder of SpeedQB Australia, running the licensed 5v5 stream (its own site is currently unreachable). Other prominent QLD events run adapted formats: Gelsoft Australia SpeedBrawl is a 3v3 (not 5v5) double-elimination event, SpeedQB-style, with flag captures as the main scoring system, open to ages 12 and up. That is a house ruleset, not stock SpeedQB.
Gel blasters also differ ballistically from airsoft (heavier, larger, lower-velocity gel beads versus 6mm plastic BBs), so engagement distances, rate-of-fire norms, and hit detection are tuned to gel, not to airsoft.
